THE SHORT VERSION

Banter is welcome. Bigotry, harassment, threats, doxxing, cheating, and trying to game the platform are not. We escalate from warning → mute → suspend → terminate. Appeal any action by emailing trust@blowtheref.com.

§ 1

The spirit of the rules

TL;DR — IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

BTR is for fans. We over-index on letting people roast a bad call and under-index on letting people attack each other.

BTR exists to make match day better. We want strong opinions, hot takes, and full-blooded fan rivalry. We don’t want anyone leaving the platform feeling worse about being a fan than when they arrived.

These rules apply to lobby chat, direct messages, profile fields, content you post, and the whistle.

§ 2

Prohibited conduct

TL;DR — IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

Hate speech, harassment, threats, doxxing, deceptive impersonation, spam, scams, sexual content, illegal content. Hard stops.

  • Hate speech, racial, ethnic, religious, gender, sexual-orientation, disability slurs and dog-whistles.
  • Harassment, stalking, persistent unwanted contact.
  • Threats of physical or sexual violence — to anyone, on or off the platform.
  • Doxxing — sharing private information about someone without consent.
  • Impersonation that is deceptive (parody handles are fine if clearly labelled).
  • Spam, scams, MLM recruiting, sale of stolen goods, malware.
  • Sexually explicit content; sexual content involving minors (zero tolerance).
  • Illegal content under SA or UK law.
§ 3

Platform integrity

TL;DR — IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

No multi-accounting, collusion, automation, or exploiting platform bugs. Don’t try to weaponise the whistle.

You may not:

  • Operate more than one account, or share accounts.
  • Collude with others to manipulate pool outcomes, leaderboards or rewards.
  • Use automation, bots, or scripts to play pools, post chat, or blow the whistle.
  • Exploit a platform bug — report it via security@blowtheref.com instead (bug bounty applies).
  • Manipulate or "raid" the whistle on behalf of someone with an agenda outside the consensus signal.
§ 4

How we enforce

TL;DR — IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

Warning, mute, temporary suspension, permanent termination. Money-touching breaches can trigger forfeiture under the Terms.

For most offences we step through warnings of increasing severity. For serious offences (threats, doxxing, integrity manipulation, sexual content involving minors) we suspend or terminate immediately.

We may also remove offending content, redact whistle records, or revert leaderboard outcomes. Where breaches touch money, the Terms govern forfeiture.

§ 5

Appeals

TL;DR — IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

Email trust@blowtheref.com inside 14 days of any action. Human review, not bots. Decision in 7 days.

If you think we made the wrong call, appeal to trust@blowtheref.com within 14 days. A Trust & Safety team member — not the moderator who actioned you — reviews. We respond within 7 days. Repeat appeals on the same action are closed without review.

§ 6

Reporting others

Every lobby message, profile and content surface has a report button. Reports are reviewed by Trust & Safety. Malicious mass-reporting is itself a breach.
