Capped entries, transparent scoring, no loss-chasing mechanics. Daily/weekly/monthly self-imposed limits. Cool-off and self-exclusion. SA Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF) signposting on every wallet page. If a pool ever feels like a problem, we want it to stop being one.

§ 1

Design-level guardrails

TL;DR — IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

One entry per pool. No double-down. No "boost". Scoring is published before kick-off. The journey is the product.

BTR’s product design pre-empts harm at the structural level:

  • One entry per pool, always. There is no top-up, double-down, or buy-back.
  • Scoring sheets are published before kick-off and cannot change during the pool.
  • No odds. No accumulators. No spreads. Predictions earn fixed points per the scoring sheet.
  • No high-frequency micro-pools. Pools follow real fixtures with real start times.
  • Free-to-play tier is identical in feel to paid tiers — no "upgrade to win" mechanics.

Self-imposed limits

Daily, weekly and monthly deposit caps. Set in Account → Limits. Reductions take effect immediately; increases need 24h cool-down.

Every account can set deposit and pool-entry limits at daily, weekly and monthly granularity. Lowering a limit takes effect immediately. Raising a limit requires a 24-hour cool-down period — you can’t raise a limit in the heat of a match.

Cool-off & self-exclusion

Pause your account 24h, 7d, 30d, 90d or 12 months. Self-exclude (irreversible for the chosen period) any time.

You can pause your account (Cool-Off) for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or 12 months. During cool-off you can’t enter pools or top up. Withdrawal is still available.

You can also self-exclude permanently or for a defined period. Self-exclusion is irreversible for the period you choose and is honoured across BTR and any sibling brands.

§ 5

Minors

BTR is 18+. We use age-verification at KYC and revoke accounts that are found to belong to anyone under 18, refunding all balances to the responsible adult’s verified account. Schools Pools never give minors accounts — only adults transact.
